3.5L EcoBoost®
The 3.5L EcoBoost® towing capacity is 13,200 lbs., making it the top dog for the 2020 F-150. The 3.5L EcoBoost® is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission and the specs are 375 HP and 470 lb.-ft. of torque, making this engine a truly dynamic drive. This powerful engine is optional on the F-150 Lariat, King Ranch®, and Platinum trims.
3.0L Power Stroke®
If you're searching for an engine that can tow a large travel trailer, the 3.0L Power Stroke® is a great option. The 2020 F-150 3.0L Power Stroke® engine towing capacity is 11,500 lbs. and the payload capacity is 1,940 lbs. The 3.0L Power Stroke® is available on the Lariat, King Ranch® and Platinum F-150 trims, and outputs 250 HP and 440 lb.-ft. of torque because it's paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission.
High-Output 3.5L EcoBoost®
The High-Output (H.O.) 3.5L EcoBoost® engine shares a similar name to another engine in the 2020 F-150 engine lineup, but the specs are markedly different. This engine, matched with a ten-speed automatic transmission, produces a maximum of 450 HP and 510 lb.-ft. of torque, the highest level of specs that the F-150 engines can offer. Standard on the Raptor and Limited trim levels, the High-Output 3.5L EcoBoost® towing capacity is 11,100 lbs. and the payload capacity is 1,520 lbs.
2.7L Turbocharged EcoBoost®
The 2020 Ford F-150 Lariat comes standardly equipped with the 2.7L Turbocharged EcoBoost®. The 2.7L EcoBoost® towing capacity is 8,500 lbs., enough to tow a small horse trailer when properly equipped. Store up to 2,470 lbs. worth of people and cargo within the truck itself, which is a truly impressive payload capacity. This engine pumps out 325 HP, 400 lb.-ft. of torque, and is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. 5.0L Ti-VCT V8
The 5.0L Ti-VCT has the grandest payload capacity of all 2020 F-150 engine options. When properly equipped, this engine has a maximum payload of 3,270 lbs. Also, the 5.0L Ti-VCT engine towing capacity is 11,600 lbs. and it is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. You can take the 5.0L Ti-VCT engine for a whirl anytime on the King Ranch® or Platinum trims because it is standardly equipped with them. If you simply can't live without the 395 HP and 400 lb.-ft. of torque that this engine produces, you can also choose to equip it to either the XL, XLT, or Lariat trim levels.
3.3L Ti-VCT V6
Standardly equipped to the 2020 Ford F-150 XL and XLT trims, the 3.3L Ti-VCT V6 towing capacity is 7,700 lbs. and the payload capacity is 1,990 lbs. This engine is coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission with Normal, Tow/Haul, and Sport modes. If you're looking for specs that get the job done, turn to the 290 HP and 265 lb.-ft. of torque produced by the 3.3L Ti-VCT.
